Expected DA/DR from July 2026 @ 63%– All-India CPI-IW for the month of April, 2026 issued by Labour Bureau on 29.05.2026

The All-India CPI-IW for April 2026 increased by 0.8 points and stands at 149.9 (one hundred forty-nine point nine). This change in the CPI-IW marks the progress of the calculation for the expected DA/DR from July 2026 for Central Government employees and pensioners, with the calculation point reaching 65.54% in the fourth month. The CPI-IW indices for the remaining two months will determine the exact DA/DR figure for July 2026.

If the CPI-IW remains stationary (no change) for the next two months, the DA/DR from July 2026 is projected to reach 63%.

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (2016=100) – April, 2026

1. Labour Bureau, an attached office of the M/o Labour & Employment, has been compiling Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers every month on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets spread over 88 industrially important centres in the country. The index for the month of April, 2026 is being released in this press release.

2. The All-India CPI-IW for April, 2026 increased by 0.8 points and stood at 149.9 points (one hundred forty-nine point nine).

3. Year-on-year inflation for the month of April, 2026 stood at 4.46% as compared to 2.94% in April, 2025.
