Crucial Meeting with 8th CPC: NC JCM (Staff Side) advocates for Minimum Pay ₹69,000 Fitment Factor 3.83 for Central Government Employees and 10 major pension related demands for Pensioners

New Delhi: In a significant development for Central Government employees and pensioners, the National Council (Joint Consultative Machinery) Staff Side, led by General Secretary Shiva Gopal Mishra, held a pivotal meeting with the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) today, April 28, 2026. The meeting, which commenced at 11:00 AM at the 8th CPC office in Chandralok Building, Delhi, lasted for approximately one and a half hours.

During the constructive dialogue, the NC JCM (Staff Side) presented a comprehensive memorandum outlining key issues directly impacting the welfare and financial prospects of employees and pensioners. Discussions covered a wide array of crucial subjects, with particular emphasis on:

  • Minimum Pay: Advocacy for a substantial increase in the minimum pay, with unions reportedly pushing for ₹69,000.
  • Fitment Factor: A uniform fitment factor of 3.83 (or 3.833) was a central point of discussion.
  • Pensioner Demands: Ten major pension-related demands were also raised, aiming to ensure better financial security for retired personnel.

Shiva Gopal Mishra conveyed through his X post that the discussions were held in a positive and cooperative atmosphere, where the concerns and proposals of the staff side were heard with seriousness. This meeting is part of a series of consultations being undertaken by the 8th CPC, which is currently in a crucial stage of its process, with meetings scheduled from April 28-30, 2026.

The NC JCM (Staff Side) reiterated its commitment to continue engaging with the 8th CPC through similar meetings to ensure that all issues pertinent to Central Government employees and pensioners are strongly advocated for and addressed.

This interaction marks a vital step in the ongoing process of the 8th Central Pay Commission, raising hopes among millions of government employees and pensioners for favorable recommendations that will significantly impact their emoluments and retirement benefits.
