POSB Post Office Internet Banking Activation and Registration Procedure

Procedure to be adopted by the CBS POs for enabling internet banking facility for eligible Savings Bank account holder is as under
  • Customer visit Post Office where the account stands and submit the filled application form
Net banking can be enabled only the branch where the accounts stands.
1. Download Internet banking/eBanking Activation Form from the below mentioned link. 
  • Fill the form and submit the same at the concern Post Office for further activation.

CIF - Customer Information File which is 9DIGIT number printed in the main page of the Post Office Saving  Account Passbook.
Account Number : 10 DIGIT Unique Post Office CBS Account number is also printed in the Main page of the passbook.
Fill all the remaining mandatory fields as filled in the sample form.
Who can open or activate or register Intra Operable Internet banking in Post Office?
Saving Account holder with the minimum balance of Rs.500/- on his / her account is eligible if the following criteria matched.
  • Customer should have Savings Bank account in CBS Office
  • Either Single or Joint “B” account are eligible
  • Joint “A”, Minor, Lunatic, Illiterate, BO accounts are not allowed for availing Internet Banking

Prerequisites

  • Customer should provide a valid Email ID.
  • Customer should provide a valid PAN number
  • Customer should provide a valid mobile number
  • CIF ID should be updated with correct First name, Last name, DOB, Father’s Name, Gender,  valid Identity and address proof, Correct present address, Mobile number, PAN Number and Mother’s Maiden Name
2. Once the form along with required documents is submitted, Counter PA should go to IES menu of Finacle to verify signature and photograph of the applicant. 
3. Counter PA should check and update all the pre requisites mentioned above in Finacle and the same should be verified by the Supervisor immediately for enabling the internet banking.
While updating the mobile number in the concern requested CIF ensure that the mobile number should be unique and should not be used for any other CIF
Supervisor has to verify the modifications done in CMRC menu. After verification, Supervisor will make entry in a Register to be maintained in manuscript in CBS SO/HO showing following information:
  • Customer should be informed that he/she will get an SMS alert to the registered mobile number after 24 hours with a link for internet banking login after processing the request. 
  • Customer should go to the link and activate his/her Internet banking. 
  • Customer should be informed that CIF ID will be the User ID and set the Login and Transaction password during first time login using the provided link.
