7th Pay Commission fitment factor: Salaries to be hiked to Rs 26,000? Good news may well depend on this big point

7th Pay Commission fitment factor of 3.68 times in offing soon? If central government employees had their way, then definitely this would have happened and that too very soon. However, the central government has to find the most suitable and least disturbing via media to ensure staff is satisfied and its treasury stays in good health. In effect, Centre has given its employees a big pay hike as per 7th CPC report and it is also all set to raise it some more after the many demands made by staff. A happy staff is something that every organisation wants, but many times a balancing act is required. However, does this mean central government employees will get another windfall in excess of the one that 7th Pay Commission report provided? Maybe so.
According to the staff's demands, the 7th CPC grant was less. It had provided hike in basic pay that raised minimum pay to Rs 18,000 per month from Rs 7,000. This was with a fitment factor 2.57 times. After protests, fitment factor of 3.00 times has emerged. This is expected to raise the minimum pay under 7th Pay Commission to Rs 21,000 from Rs 18,000. In short 7th CPC may be bypassed to offer this amount. However, this will not please the staff. They want more and this excess involves a fitment factor of 3.68 times that will push minimum pay to Rs 26,000. Will that happen? All things considered, it is being reported that positive news for government employees is in the offing, but nothing is being officially indicated, just in case things make a surprising turn.
At this juncture, it is important to note what the 7th Pay Commission thought about it. Here are Principles of Pay Determination as per 7th CPC and the final decision by PM Narendra Modi led government may well take this into consideration:

"The Seventh CPC has been set up at a time of many noticeable changes on the governance front. The principal role of the government as the prime facilitator has gained firm ground. E-Governance has made considerable progress, facilitating communication and improving coordination of authorities at different tiers of government. There is a specific emphasis on Minimum Government and Maximum Governance, harping on the concept of a leaner bureaucracy with more skilled people. There is also a definite need to harmonize the functioning of the Central Government with the demands of the emerging global economic scenario. This Commission had to keep all these factors while finalizing the compensation structure for the Central Government employees.
