The applicability of the Rule 9(3) of CCS (Extra Ordinary Pension) Rules, 1939

The applicability of the Rule 9(3) of CCS (Extra Ordinary Pension) Rules, 1939 has been extended to those Government servants appointed on or after 01.01.2004 and covered under National Pension System. Accordingly these employees are also eligible for payment of lump sum compensation, if they get disabled in performance of duty and retained in service in spite of such disablement.

This will particularly a huge relief for our young CAPF Personnel since disability in performance of duty is generally reported in their cases due to hostile & extremely hard work-environment.

The provisions of this O.M. shall take effect from 01.01.2004 .
