Big Dusshera Gift For CG Employees From The Narendra Modi Government

7th pay commission: Central government employees can get a big Dusshera gift from the Narendra Modi government as it is reportedly planning to increase the Dearness Allowance. If implemented, the decision would come as a huge relief for the central government employees demanding an improvement in the salary they are getting as per the 7th pay commission recommendations for a while now. At present, 12 per cent Dearness Allowance is given and employees are hoping that it could be increased by up to 5 per cent. The government does an analysis of this DA in every six months.
Notably, the DA was hiked this year in January and was supposed to be implemented in July. But, it has now been reported that the implementation might happen in the last week of August or the festive season that starts with Dusshera. This year the festival will be celebrated on October 8. In this case, the employees will also get arrears for July, August and September.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government recently decided to give DA (Dearness Allowance) to state government employees after implementing recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission for the state municipal corporation, municipal council and Nagar Panchayat employees and pensioners last month. The move by Devendra Fadnavis government is likely to benefit around 4 lakh government employees and pensioners ahead of Dussehra
Last week, it was reported that the state government may table the proposal for the same in the upcoming cabinet meeting and is expected to get passed without any hurdle. The 7th Pay Commission recommendations have been implemented in the state’s 27 municipal corporations and 362 municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats.
The state government has implemented the 7th pay Commission recommendations from 1st January 2019 for all state government employees. The government is expected to spend around Rs 1.4 lac crore after the implementation of the 7th pay commission, a lot more than Rs 62,123 crore it was spending earlier.
The DA is given by the central and state government to meet the rise in inflation and adjust government employee’s salary with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
