CHENNAI: With the 7th Pay Commission pay out increasing the disposable income of government employees, car companies are cranking out special packages to tap into this consumer segment. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), for instance, has just announced its special initiative -- Drive the Nation -- exclusively designed for central and state government employees and defence personnel (including ex-servicemen).
The campaign which is applicable from September to December 2016 is a "one-stop-shop" of integrated offers to car buyers under the purview of the new initiative.
Launched in line with the recent 7th Pay Commission for Central Government Employees on pay and pensionary benefits, the Drive the Nation campaign is an attempt to tap into this consumer segment. The initiative, which is applicable only on the Etios series, will offer a gamut of benefits starting from affordable funding solutions focused on low customer acquisition cost, attractive offers on Toyota Protect Insurance and Toyota Genuine Accessories, maintenance package and unmatched extended warranty.
In addition, the campaign also offers a series of value-added services under the name F.A.M.I.L.Y offer including 100% on-road funding for seven years with zero down payment, a 25% saving on maintenance cost with a Service Value Maintenance Pack, a 10% discount on TGA Package, insurance benefits and Rs 10,000 loyalty bonus or Attractive Exchange Benefits through U-Trust Dealers and extended warranty of up to 5 Years or 180,000 km.
N Raja, director & senior vice president (sales & marketing), Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said: "The 7th Pay Commission will be a positive boost for auto industry owing to the rise in income levels and spending capacity. It comes at the right time when we have launched our New Platinum Etios & Etios Liva to largely attract personal customers with enhanced comfort features. Customers can leverage from the 'Drive the Nation' initiative and maximize their purchase when they buy New Etios & Liva." The Etios Series, consisting of Etios, Liva and Cross, is positioned as family vehicles. . "With this launch, Toyota became the first in the industry to standardize Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) across all Toyota models & in all grades," said the company in a statement.
