No.AIPRPA / Dearness Relief - Dated 17.10.2021

To

Honourable Prime Minister of India

Government of India

New Delhi – 110001

Sir,

Sub: Request for Immediate release of Dearness Allowance / Dearness Relief to CG Employees and Pensioners due from 1.7.2021 – regarding.

The CHQ of All India Postal & RMS Pensioners Association is conveying the distress and discontentment of our members as well as the Central Government Pensioners and Family Pensioners numbering several lakhs over the inordinate delay in the Union Cabinet decision and ordering of disbursement of due DA/DR w.e.f 1.7.2021.

The Government had relented and released the impounded DA/DR for 18 months from 1.1.2020 recently after much pressure from various Employees and Pensioners Associations. But the arrears for the said period is yet under impounding. Meanwhile, the DA/DR due from 1.7.2021 has accrued and the Government instead of taking the decision as usual to disburse the amount either in the last week of September or during the first week of October has not occurred. The delay has led to speculation and fear that once again the Government is contemplating to impound the DA/DR of the Employees and the Pensioners.

It is needless to point out that the only way to off-set the escalation of price rise is through the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief rise. The absence of timely payment of DA/DR is placing us in economic distress. We are shocked to see again and again that the employees and pensioners are taxed like this while the concessions given to the corporates even during the time of pandemic are on the increase. We trust that the Government will immediately understand our concern and release the due DA/DR with effect from 1.7.2021 as well as take a positive decision to release the arrears of DA/DR for the period of 18 months from Jan 2020 to June 2021.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Sd/[
