Sub: Maintaining Old Age Homes for CG Pensioners by the Government of India – regarding.

This All India Postal & RMS Pensioners Association would like to seek your kind attention in order to consider the formation and maintenance of Old Age Homes for the benefit of destitute Central Government Pensioners in all States.

There are many old age homes at present being run by several NGOs and Private persons in many parts of every state. But to find accommodation in one of those Old Age Homes which are kind to senior citizens in nominal charges is extremely difficult. The difficulties are much more if the Pensioner is crippled or in a need for permanent physical assistance. All senior citizens are not fortunate to live peacefully with their wards in India or abroad. Many senior citizen pensioners are living with heavy hearts unable to get the required physical assistance and other needs in India. Neither they have the presence of kind hearted wards here nor they have the sound financial position to afford to spend on getting the much-needed physical assistance in houses or old age homes. Life is actually unbearable to those pensioners.

This Association will be really grateful if the Central Government in general and the Ministry of Pension & Pensioners Welfare in particular or by any other Ministry that the GOI deems fit, can consider formation and maintenance of Old Age homes. We only want that such Old Age Homes should have necessary supervision by Government Authorities. We hope that this would be considered with a reasonable tariff which is quite affordable within the pension disbursed to them by the Government. This requires a new policy decision by the GOI and we are hopeful that under your leadership the Senior Citizen Pensioners will get a new lease of life.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Sd/-
